HBO Family's Kid Flicks Mobile Film Studio

BACKGROUND

HBO Family wanted to increase awareness of their series, “30 by 30: Kid Flicks” — a program dedicated to movies written, directed and produced by kids ages 8-18. The goal was to bring the magic of movie-making to kids across the country and inspire them to make their own movies.

Oasis stepped in and suggested creating a state-of-the-art, interactive, mobile film studio to bring the magic of the silver screen to schools, concerts, film festivals and other kid-friendly locations. From storyboards to sound effects, the exhibit introduced kids to all aspects of filmmaking. A series of interactive computers provided “tips and tricks” for creating special effects at home, from using skateboards as film dollies to constructing light sabers!

RESULTS

This traveling multimedia event provided a flexible, turn-key event for HBO Family and its cable affiliates. While generating nationwide media attention, HBO Kid Flicks educated and entertained young filmmakers across the country — making movies truly make a difference for kids and HBO Family.
